About the Artist
Jessica Kirby is a multidisciplinary artist, curator, and creative based in South Florida. Her practice moves between fine art, digital media, and immersive experiences, with a focus on creating work and spaces that feel transportive.
A fine artist from the beginning, Jessica expanded her practice through the study of animation at Florida State University’s College of Motion Picture Arts. That experience opened up new ways of thinking about movement, storytelling, and world-building. This eventually led her into design and visual storytelling before bringing her back to a deeper focus on the arts.
Today, Jessica’s primary focus is her studio practice and curatorial work. She develops exhibitions, events, and immersive experiences that rethink how people encounter art, often bringing artists and audiences together in unconventional spaces and unexpected ways. She is particularly interested in creating opportunities for artists whose work doesn’t always fit neatly into traditional gallery settings.
While design and marketing remain part of her creative toolkit, Jessica’s work today is centered on making art, building experiences, and creating more room for artists to experiment, connect, and be seen.
Artist Statement
My work explores subconscious narratives inspired by my dreams and inner experiences. Through vibrant, surreal landscapes, I translate these intangible spaces into visual worlds that reflect the complexity of the mind and the emotions held within it.
Recurring elements such as clouds and celestial beings become symbols within these landscapes, representing healing, transformation, and self-discovery. Many of my paintings are also manifestations of my own healing process, allowing me to explore emotions that can be difficult to articulate in words.
By creating these vivid mindscapes, I seek to find light within darkness and express the resilience that can emerge through periods of change. I invite viewers to step into these imagined spaces and consider their own inner worlds, finding moments of reflection, recognition, and solace within the surreal.
